JUDY WOLNER RECOGNIZED AS CAREGIVER OF THE YEAR BY LEADINGAGE MINNESOTA

Saint Paul – (February 7, 2024) – Judy Wolner, a caregiver at Vista Prairie Goldfinch Estates, is the recipient of the LeadingAge Minnesota’s Caregiver of the Year award. As the Community Care Coordinator at Vista Prairie Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont, MN, Judy’s exceptional dedication and compassionate care have made a profound impact on the lives of memory care residents and their families.

The Caregiver of the Year Award honors individuals in older adult services who demonstrate exceptional commitment to older adults and enrich the quality of life of those in their care. Wolner was selected for the prestigious award out of a field of more than 60,000 professional caregivers in LeadingAge Minnesota’s membership.

“Judy, with an impressive 19 years of service at Vista Prairie Goldfinch Estates, embodies the qualities every family dreams of in a caregiver,” said Kari Thurlow, President and CEO of LeadingAge Minnesota. “Her journey from a direct caregiver to a lead staff member showcases her unwavering commitment to the comfort and security of residents.”

Wolner sets herself apart through her authentic, dependable, and honest approach to caregiving. Her empathetic demeanor not only calms the stigma of memory care but also brings joy to residents and their family members.

Judy’s remarkable journey started in her home country of Tanzania. She met her husband in Minnesota, and after settling in Fairmont, she joined Goldfinch Estates.

“Judy knows no bounds in her commitment to caring for others. Her presence radiates a special energy that is felt by everyone fortunate enough to meet her,” said Kacey Kasel, Executive Director. “Everyone at Goldfinch Estates extends heartfelt gratitude to Judy for her loving care and devoted service.”

Wolner accepted the award at the LeadingAge Minnesota Institute & Expo, the state’s largest and most comprehensive aging services conference. More than 3,000 professionals in all aspects of older adult services attend the annual two-day event to learn about new and innovative programs, share best practices, and network with their peers.
