Brody Bents helped Judy move-in to her new apartment at Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont, MN during his first week in his new position. Brody says the new career turn to senior living found him, more than he found it. It’s his first ever 9-5 job and so far, he says it’s been “a ton of fun” as the community’s Sales and Community Marketing Manager.

His relationship with older adults comes naturally. After his father passed away at a young age, Brody and his brother spent a lot of time with their grandmother. He eventually helped when she decided to move into a senior living community.

Brody was born in and grew up in Fairmont and, except for his college years at Minnesota State in Mankato, has lived in the area ever since. He’s well known in the community having owned and managed a car dealership for ten years, Bents Motor Company, and then taking his sales career into real estate more than four years ago.

“Evolution in the car sales marketplace, convinced me that it was time for a change,” Brody recalls. He says the transition to real-estate and now to senior living all demand similar traits, “Besides being friendly and conversational, you need to be a good listener, to see others’ concerns.”

Brody will keep his real-estate license current in his new role, anticipating that some residents will need help selling their homes when they make the move to Goldfinch Estates. Even though this latest sales evolution is closely related to real-estate, he acknowledges that some folks are surprised to see him trying on this new hat. He’s confident that it will be a good fit.
